What safety measures are to be followed while buying a center table?

The center table has become a style statement of every tasteful household. Due to its central position, it is the focal point of the sitting room. Hence we all intend to have an attractive one to notice appreciation in the guests’ eyes.

However, we often miss the safety issues linked to it. This should be a prior concern for the parents of an infant or toddler over the aesthetic part.

Glass makes:
This elegant piece of furniture makes a room look brighter and airy, no question about it. However, they also bring hazards for younger children. Normal glass is quite risky to use if you have babies in your family. If this shatters, it can easily pierce the body.

So, if you are passionate about glass furniture, make sure it is made of tempered glass before buying. Tempered glass variation is a specially treated glass that breaks into small cubes if shattered and unlikely to pierce. But it is not easy to differentiate between the ordinary and tempered only by looking. Better you shop from a branded store to get the exact product description.

Wood makes:
Wooden furniture is safer compared to glass. But the sharp edges and corners can be dangerous for children. Many parenting shops sell plastic or foam caps and bumpers to cover the corners and edges. This will prevent toddlers from injury. My suggestion is to use these for safety measures. They can be removed when not needed.

Drawers and lift top lids:
Drawers also present a hazard. The fingers are easily pinched and trapped. Lock it when not using it. Lift top lids are heavy and there are possibilities the fingers get trapped.
Remember to use that kind of furniture which is safe for the small members.
